Description
The right cerebral hemisphere showing very marked injection of the vessels, and a rather thin,
yellowish exudate, most marked in this specimen over the tip of the frontal and temporal lobes.
History
This child, born prematurely, was apparently well, but suddenly died at home.
Pneumococci were isolated from the exudate.
